Official "Positives from the Tulsa Game" Thread

I am not being cynical, just wanted to post what I thought was very encouraging, and that is that we have the makings of a very special defense on our hands. And that secondary is very young. And they will only get better when some reinforcements arrive on the D-line.

It looks like we have found a player on Colt Mahan, and the tandem of Holman/Nwigwe will be pretty good.

I know it is hard to get excited about anything with the loss, but my initial observations (without reviewing any stats) is that our defense play a hell of a game. They kept Tulsa to 7 in the first half, and allowed 21 points in the second half. Tulsa averages 34 points a game. Moreover, the MG defense played Tulsa's tricky offensive plays to near perfection in the first half. I am excited about our defense! THE PROBLEM: MG defense were constantly on the field (literally, seemed like they hardly left) b/c we'd go 3 & out, 3 & out, 3 & out....any defense will tire with that much play. Plain and simple: the defense did their job, the offense didn't do theirs.
