SURPRISE, SURPRISE!!

The D comes up big, stuffs their run, Ransom tattoos Marks about 4 times and Marks coughs it up once. Our D comes of age right there in the 'Boro.

Jamario and Pat both have good days ... 100+ each. We rule time of possession AND the scoreboard.

Final -

UNT 35

MUTS 17

Mark it down!

Well, since PlummMeanGreen felt the need to post one of his predictions on the Score Prediction thread on our board, I felt that I should do the same for your board, so you can at least have one opposing fan's viewpoint. biggrin.gif

Here's what will happen in the game tonight.

The Middle Tennessee defensive front with it's size and experience will stack the line of scrimmage and will hit Patrick Cobbs and Jamario Thomas early stopping them for little or no gain for most of the night. They might break away for a play or two, but for the most part they'll be well-contained.

With all the pressure going on at the line, the very inexperienced freshman Mean Green quarterback, Daniel Meager, will certainly feel hurried to make a play. In doing so, he'll most likely pass it when he can't give it off to Cobbs or Thomas, 'cause he won't run himself. He'll look for #81. That be Johnny Quinn, the only real experienced receiver that UNT will bring to Murfreesboro tonight.

Expect Quinn to be well-guarded with the fast corners in MTSU's secondary that did very well in containing a very strong Brodie Croyle and Alabama Crimson Tide passing offense that had a few 15-20+ yard gains from a vast array of receivers which is something MTSU won't have to worry about with North Texas. In that case, Joel Nwigwe will have to step it up. He had a few good catches against Middle Tennessee in previous meetings, but he also had a guy behind center who knew what he was doing.

Expect Middle Tennessee to hold North Texas to under 300 yards total offense and under 100 yards passing offense. It's possible Cobbs and Thomas will each have 100 yards on the day, but they'll have to work very hard for every yard.

Meanwhile, watch Middle Tennessee's Clint Marks dazzle spectators with a large air show that'll include receivers Chris Henry, Cleannord Saintil, and Pierre Ingram-a dynamo trifecta of long-range threats that will torch North Texas' youthful secondary.

The Blue Raiders will definitely try to establish some kind of running game with Eugene Gross and Alex Suber, but gains will likely be limited at best as was with Alabama. But that's okay for this game, 'cause UNT won't stop MTSU from passing it and getting long gains from the air.

Prediction:

Blue Raiders 35

Mean Green 14
