Tulsa, Okla. (3/6/05) – The North Texas softball team won the Embassy Suites-Tulsa Invite with a 3-1 victory against Wisconsin on Sunday morning. The Mean Green went 4-1 in the tournament with its only loss coming at the hands of Wichita State.

North Texas is now 7-14 and has won a season-high four straight games.

Freshman pitcher Kristina Fowler won her third straight game this week and fifth of the season. She pitched seven innings, allowing one run and spread out nine hits.

Senior Stephanie Cranmer went 4-for-4 in the win versus Wisconsin, including one double. She is the only player at North Texas to post four hits in a single game. The leftfielder recorded four hits in a single game during the 2004 season.

Sophomore Susan Waters continued to have a hot bat, posting two hits and two RBI in the victory. After freshman Katya Muller put NT ahead with a solo homer, Waters posted an RBI double to put the Mean Green ahead, 2-0, in the third inning. Waters knocked in Cranmer, who singled to get on base.

In the fifth inning, Waters knocked in her second RBI of the game with a single. Sophomore Katy Maxey scored on the play after getting on base with a single.

Sophomores Christen Jonse and Heather Bostic both posted two hits apiece in the victory.

North Texas returns home for a March 15th game against Stephen F. Austin
