Possible cause for a bump in players entering the portal?

Not strictly UNT related, but was wondering, for the kids that signed with schools in 2021 and especially 2020 - how many of them had limited interaction or visits to schools due to the Covid restrictions?  Especially in 2020 there were stories of players who had not even visited campuses when they signed? Once they got to school there were remote learning or limited classes in person. Maybe this played a bigger part in the willingness to leave combined with the free year that kept a lot of players around and reduced playing time.

I know 2022 could not visit until June of 2021s.. HS kids could not visit from April of 20 till June of 21. So yeah that is a huge part. Also HS kids couldn’t go to camps. So colleges had to go off of film. Stars come from camps (24/7 or rival).. I don’t think we need to truly worry about Ratings in this class. Just like stars in last year class came from older camps when kids could have been peaking in 10th grade year and not warranted..just my opinion

Maybe a minor reason.

However, the primary reasons are the extra year of eligibility because of the covid virus and the one time transfer rule.
