1st. Only 8 of the 16 transfers are on scholarship. Only 1 of those is a grad transfer with 1 year of eligibility. The rest have 2 or more years remaining.

2nd. The "55 new players" includes the freshman signing class, the scholarship transfers, the walk on transfers, and walk on freshman. SMU is expanding its walk on program, so that's part of the large increase this year. 

This should be a good game this year. The team that showed up in Denton last year was not ready. They got much better as the year went on. We have improved at almost every position, and they will be ready this time.
