The fact that the QB Smith is uncommitted and visiting us the weekend before national JUCO signing day on Wednesday has to be a good thing, right?

I spent a little time Twitter stalking him yesterday and one tweet in particular said something like "My mom is already telling people where I'm committing next week". This was a few days ago, so it sounds like he had already made up his mind prior to visiting us this weekend. I'm a little more pessimistic today.

I think Brett's wording may have been a little misleading. Smith visited last weekend.

Unless that was an unnoficial and this one is an official. In which case, with that tweet you mentioned, if he's visiting us twice including the week before signing day then he's probably ours. Although I don't think that's the case. I think his visit to us was last weekend.

The tweet Ben Gooding posted in the other thread indicts that Smith is here on some type of visit.

This, along with the fact (that I forgot about) that he was here last weekend and his mom telling people this past week where he was going leads me to believe he will sign with UNT on Wednesday. Bet he announces his commitment later today, maybe even in one of those 52 phone calls Vito needs to make before the basketball game.

Fingers crossed. I don't know if he is a QB savior or not, but we need other options at that position.

He has upside and a lot if it. Strong arm, quick release and decisive with the football. His pinpoint accuracy might be lacking a little bit, but he usually delivers the ball on target and on time. He would be our best pure passer the moment he steps on campus.

Fun fact. he likes the Dallas Cowboys.. If we could have gotten Lance Dunbar in last week since the Cowboys played on a Thursday. He would have committed there on the spot.
