  1. Past hour
  2. This is what I pulled from the 257 draft selections in the 2024 draft: G5 (counting UCONN) had 19 draft picks All non P5/G5 conferences had 15 draft picks P5 (including Notre Dame) had 223 draft picks I didn't think we'd be that low and that level with non-FBS conferences.
  3. 2 and we need a 6-6 to 6-8 F and a 6-8 to 6-11 big man
  4. I am pretty happy with the players we have landed thus far! I think we are just missing a couple more bigs. Would love to see more size out of the transfer portal and perhaps another point guard.
  5. Today
  6. They were part of Senior Day....for whatever that's worth.
  7. Uhhh... because unlike AAA affiliates and major league teams, we compete with the money wielding programs. Huge difference
  8. Truitt and Donohoe are listed as juniors on the official roster. Did they graduate and decide not to return?
  9. I am not sure what’s wrong about this . It’s a money earning potential comment with the power 5 paying the major league bucks .
  10. I haven't been disappointed in how we've done in conference play. We're gonna finish anywhere from 17-10 to 20-7 in league play. Was disappointed in how we didn't compete against name teams, in OOC play. I do think the future is bright. I think those incoming recruits are very talented. (especially the pitchers from Michigan and Tennessee). And I think Ausha Moore, will be another speed merchant like Cierra is. One more thing: I think Madison Conley will be our next great power hitter.
  11. I don't know what the problem is, either. Can't blame it on a tougher confernece when half of the 10-team AAC is CUSA refugees, including the top three in the standings.
  12. Interestingly it has gone the other direction, so I guess I'm way off on my ranting. Had AI run the % of draft picks from P5 teams 2014: Approximately 82% 2015: Approximately 80% 2016: Approximately 83% 2017: Approximately 85% 2018: Approximately 81% 2019: Approximately 79% 2020: Approximately 83% 2021: Approximately 84% 2022: Approximately 82% 2023: Approximately 80%
  13. Does the data actually support this? I'm not saying you're wrong, as I haven't yet seen any numbers comparing G5 draftees this year vs. the past. But, just perusing round by round, it feels like I'm seeing plenty of G5, FCS, and occasionally lower levels being represented. Where the G5 might be underrepresented (as compared to past performance) might be the high profile 1st round and maybe 2nd round picks.
  14. The days of getting players drafted are pretty much gone for G5. If you are good enough you transfer and build up your resume. Just another reason I'm losing interest in CFB. I'd be very interested in seeing how many G5 players are drafted annually vs before portal/NIL... oh wait no I just really don't care anymore. 🖕NCAAF
  15. This is where I am. My 10 year old son has the team posters for every team since the 2019-2020 one in a montage on his wall…Aaron and Rubin were the consistent faces on several of them.
  16. I think the question is not if St. John's good enough for Scott, but is Scott good enough to get big minutes there. It does look promising for Scott, not a lot of forwards returning for SJ.
  17. I think we have our new recruiting pitch… ”Sign with us…we’ll criticize your play for a few years…transfer…make it to the NFL”
  18. Great information Losing the literal foundation of Delong's softball program at NT This should be NT's year, but as good as the team is; it IMO has underperforms thus far based on the senior class. Several of the seniors were actually much better earlier in their NT's careers.
  19. So in his time here, Seth Littrell signed a CFL quarterback, and two quarterbacks who were signed to the NFL as UDFA’s. Not bad.
  20. It almost feels like the baseball farm system with us being AAA.
  21. Hope he makes the roster. Would be fun to watch him sling it in the NFL.
  22. In my relatively short time as a Mean Green fan, I don't think I've seen a team so carried by seniors. This weekend's series was the last three games at Lovelace for 10 Mean Green seniors, and all but one (Truitt) was either an everyday starter or saw significant playing time. Here's who will be returning barring any transfers. All classifications are what they will be in 2025. Likely starters (in my opinion) Rylee Nicholson (SR) - UT Cierra Simon (SR) - SS Madison Conley (SO) - UT Tatum Sparks (JR) - UT Elizabeth Moffitt (SO) - C Jodie Epperson (JR) - OF Returning Pitching Staff Skylar Savage (SR) Mackenzie Childers (JR) Kayleigh Smith (SO) Returning, but will they play? Mikaela Olguin (JR) - OF Emma Grahmann (SR) - IF Blayze McNemar (SO or RS-F?) - OF Maci George (SO or RS-F?) - IF There doesn't appear to be a website to find commits for softball, so through social media, here are the incoming freshmen I have found: Katy Brock, OF, Mabank Shelby Buffington, P, Franklin Page (Tennessee) Rylie Harris, C, Forney Gracie Mahoney, P, Macomb Dakota (Michigan) - another 6 footer, like Skylar Ausha Moore, IF, Carl Albert HS (Midwest City, OK) Taylor Platt, OF, Argyle Committed Inbound Freshmen for 2026 Eva Daniels, IF, Forney Laila Nobles, IF, Pearland Addie Perry, UT/C, Aledo Love the Metroplex talent we are bringing in. Forney's currently the #1 team in the state. But looks like we still have a handful of spots to fill next year. Going to need to improve the hitting and power. Maybe we can land some home run threats in the portal who want to get closer to home. I'll post stories and highlights of the commits shortly.
  23. Hopefully after a few more years we will all be more accepting of heartbreak. I got used to it in high school.
