These posts reflect my feelings. NIL is a huge downer. Yes it’s the offseason, but my caring level has undergone a progressively steep drop off since NIL. This offseason just seems a little worse I guess.

Just got in from a run.....and I hate windy days when I run. It wasn't that bad. But it will be noticeable. Right field might get some homers....glad we have some good lefty bats like Kailey, Lexi, Molly, Kat..... Will be there for game 1.....

I'm to the point where they can all go kick rocks if they don't want to come for just a scholarship. We can be the first "integrity" school where you play for the honor, not NIL.

Just guessing they don't have enough quality football history or football brand to draw viewers and more media $? Kinda like Northwestern and Vanderbilt, weak links.

I am out in west Texas and will be watching on "The Plus". It has been windy here and my phone shows windy conditions in Denton with sustained speeds at 18mph w/ gusts to 33mph. Is that accurate? If so, we may have a jet stream headed out to right field.

I don't know where you're at but at my office in north Fort Worth we got a very slight sprinkle around noon and nothing more.

I say no names on the uniforms. School name only. Take away their individualism. They are just widgets now anyway. I don't want to know them or anything about them. All are replaceable. That is the system they have created!

How is the weather today? I hear it is supposed to be very windy in Denton through tomorrow.

My understanding was Davis is having issues getting admitted academically to UM, thus the hold up.

May has added: C Danny Wolf from Yale CG Rubin Jones PG Tre Donaldson from Auburn SG Roddy Gayle Jr. from Ohio St. SF Sam Walters from Alabama What fascinates me is that he hasn't gone after Vlad or Davis from FAU and took Rubin over them. From the looks of things, not much research done here, he is looking at Rubin as a sixth man type off the bench. Maybe Davis expressed he wasn't willing to play that role, but I really thought he would bring he and "The Flopper" along. (Vlad is projected to Michigan)

Agree, without the relationships how can you motivate and mentor.

It's not been reported over there yet....but we lost another b-ball player to the portal y'day (Terrence Dixon). He played very little. But, as of this point......that will mean, if no one else leaves......9 new players in basketball next year. And, I'm guessing it's gonna be close to 50 new players in football this season. To me, that's not sustainable. You have to have some kind of relationship with the players. They can't all be "rentals."

I was kind of hoping this HSO thread would help me get over the hump and renew the two season tickets I’ve had since the days of dirt at Fouts Field and the old cement urinals there. Unfortunately I, probably like some others, can’t seem to generate any old fashioned enthusiasm for the new version of “ here today gone tomorrow, pass through jocks . Somehow there just seems to be a missing piece; commitment, loyalty, alma mater. Yesterday’s discarded intangibles. Well, today is deadline day, can I break an old habit?

I gave you a +1, but I also suspect he would not get along with the Grants and Ross's of our world. Would be loads of fun and wins, though.

For anyone who hasn't experienced the greatness of Hutchins, you should treat yourself the next time you are in either Frisco or McKinney. Some of the best brisket I've had (and other good stuff too). And... since UNT has expanded into Frisco, I guess we can claim Hutchins as a UNT BBQ place 😎
