"UNT is in the hunt for — and is currently hosting — a junior college quarterback whose stock appears to be rising quickly.

Josh Greer, a former Arlington standout who signed with UAB out of high school before spending a year at Navarro College, is on his official visit to UNT, his father, Carl Greer, confirmed Friday afternoon.

We mentioned Greer briefly on the blog a few days ago when we ran through UNT’s quarterback situation.

Carl Greer said that his son has visited Florida International. He cancelled a visit to Georgia State.

There are a host of teams that are trying to get into the race at this point. Pitt has offered and a few other schools are trying to get involved. Carl Greer declined to identify them, but did say that there is a Big 12 school that has shown a lot of interest recently."

I'm with you, All About UNT. I have a feeling that Greer could be just what we need. And he will have a fair opportunity to compete for the starting QB position.

When is the deadline for the JC mid-year signing?

he can not sign until after Dec 21st due to NCAA Regs. Interesting move going after him with BB, Lil Mc and DW on the roster.
