Big East Not Waiting On Villanova

UCF i think will be invited to join the Big East which would be awesome for UNT.... even better would be Houston to the Big East but i just dont see that happening....

UH is the leading choice due to a much larger TV market. Their is still some infighting in the BE with some members favoring an eastern school. TCU needs a travel partner and UH fits that bill. Combine a larger TV market, new FB stadium and rennovated BB arena, with a larger recruiting base and UH looks solid. Don't forget, USF does not want UCF in the BE.

Dont think they have a new football stadium....don't think they even have the money...they will be lucky to have one in another 4-5 years.

I don't know which they'll choose because there are several factors. Houston has the larger TV market by about 600,000hh but they would have to share some of that with Rice (if only Houston teams are considered) whereas UCF has the Orlando market alone. UCF has the larger facilities; 12,000 more seats in their football stadium and a couple of thousand more in their basketball arena. South Florida also needs a travel partner and UCF would fill that bill. Florida is almost as fertile a recruiting ground as Texas with three less state schools for competition. Houston has had the stronger teams in the past but UCF won CUSA last year and has shown a lot of improvement. It's just too close to call.

However, when the Big East goes to 12 teams then I believe that whichever is not selected on the first increase will be selected on the second (assuming that TCU is still a part of the Big East).

By the way, Fort Worth is going to have to change their sobriquet from "Where the West Begins" to "Where the East Leaves Off."
