5. North Texas -- Todd Dodge was one of the best high school coaches in Texas, but it hasn't translated to the college game -- yet. It's coming, which puts the Mean Green in the middle of the hate meter.

7. Western Kentucky -- The Hilltoppers aren't even eligible for SBC wins this year (new to the league), but many teams are chomping at the bit to get at them. A lot of that comes from the basketball rivals, which will move to football next season.

Underrated IMO. After that stunt last season, they're numero uno on my conference hate list.

1. Middle Tennessee -- Again, this has little to do with winning and more to do with the fact that three SBC teams call Middle Tennessee State their rival. That's a lot of teams to upset in a nine-team conference.

Overrated IMO, although giving conference champion rings when you don't actually win the head-to-head game against the team you "share" the title with does earn you bonus hate points.

for the record, my first game as a student was the baylor game in '03 and i haven't developed a hatred for any team in the sunbelt.

the reason? i think it's because you develop a hatred for a team when you know a lot about them as well. it's hard to get to know the other sunbelt teams enough to hate them. i hate the spurs because mavs fans know them well. i hate the angels because, well, texiera is there now.

Count me as a Western Kentucky hater. I don't like their mascot, it's a RED DOT. I didn't like the arrogance of their team and I am sure we can all learn to hate them as time goes on.
