Does anyone know if the visitors section is GA or not? I hear students can only buy two tickets at a time for the discounted price, and I need more than 2 tickets sitting together!

No, they are reserved seats. You do like they do on an airplane, and just see if the people sitting next to you are willing to switch with your friends.
