Coach Petrilli to Purdue

Congrats to Coach Petrilli!  Purdue got a good guy that players love!

With this hire, the only on-field coach from last year's staff (outside of a retiring Bennett & a bought-out Littrell who can bide his time) that remains unemployed is...   Matt Passwaters.  Can't imagine why.  According to some folks here on GMG.com, he was an amazing DL coach!

I remember how the board reacted after this nepotism hire happened. UIW already hired their DL coach, so it doesn't look like he will be joining Gush or Phil's son.

Congrats to Coach Petrilli.  Never met him, but he sounds like a great guy and his players played hard for him.  I wish him the best.

We've been spoiled with good ST coordinators lately... Good for him! It is good to have a reputation as a G5 school where coaches can move up even when things don't go perfectly on the field. Biagi to Ole Miss and now Petrilli to Purdue is good for the next guys offered a position here.
