  1. Watched starting late in first half. TCU was never in the contest.
  2. "Forever in the right" is how I learned it. I will go back to singing it that way also. Good traditions should not change. I do like the idea of adding the a cappella repeat.
  3. Challenge - yes. Pipe dream - not so much. About that lack of attention from the media, it seems that UL-Monroe got a lot more attention after early season success last year.
  4. Watched the Fox College version Thursday afternoon and recorded the high-def version on Fox SW earlier today to watch later. This was an awesome production.
  5. Friday line is down to 4.5 per Dallas News. Also, four out of eight sportswriters for Dallas News are picking North Texas outright.
  6. That pre-season forecast that put UNT at 9-3 has the Ohio game as one of the three losses. We are still 5.5 points underdogs in this one. A win for UNT would be HUGE, but a narrow loss would not be devastating except to ponder what could have been. In case you're wondering, that forecast also has us losing to Georgia and Tulsa. I disagree with Brett that a win at Ohio is needed for a winning season. That said, this game is a huge opportunity. I, and I am sure most of you, want this one badly.
  7. Mugs are $15 or 2 for $25. Believe the event is no charge.
  8. Rick, do you have a pix behind you and to the left. From upstairs it looked fairly full there. Also, our CUSA games will draw more, especially the Texas teams. Wondering how they will get all students in the student sections and what will happen to those three sections the students filled up tonight?
  9. Not only did those games start at 7:30 or 8:00 (I think it was 7:30 in the last half of the 60's), but that was BEFORE the country adopted daylight saving time. So that 7:30 in the 60's had the same sunlight and heat as 8:30 today.
  10. Let's hope top-ranked high school players are paying attention.
  11. Somebody was talking last Saturday about how potential softball recruits prefer a school that also has a baseball program. Looking past baseball for a moment, I wonder if this is also true for women tennis or soccer players?
  12. Hardman was the other tackle next to Joe Greene and perhaps the most underrated defensive lineman in college football in that era.
  13. I stopped by Rally House on FM2499 in Flower Mound today. They have fresh stock of UNT apparel and other stuff that I have not seen on recent trips to Voertman's or the B&N store at Apogee. Of course, they also now have a UNT football schedule poster.
  14. I obviously would not take it as I come up FM2499 to FM2181 from Flower Mound. Once construction gets serious on I-35E, the A-train connection from DART could be a great option from Dallas if there was a shuttle to the stadium.
  15. Somebody told me Saturday that C-USA, like most major conferences, does not allow student seating behind visitors bench. I just checked the seating chart and see that the three sections in the center on the student side are now designated for young alumni. Students will be in sections either side of those or in the upper level. The Green Brigade will likely be closer to the corner toward the wing.
  16. Got mine in Flower Mound today. Relieved to see I have same parking. Dan Johnston told me Saturday that lanyards will be passed out at first game.
  17. Count me in from Flower Mound to Lewisville TK. I already have some conflicts on some OT dates, but should make some.
  18. I drove up from Flower Mound to get mine today.
  19. I stopped by to watch the demolition for a while this afternoon while I was in Denton. Fouts is proving to be a tough stadium to tear down.
  20. I agree that Georgia looks to be one of the best teams in the country. With the guys practicing in this 100+ heat and the season just three and a half weeks away, it's past time to start showing solid support and encouragement. Saying "we ain't beating" so-and-so is not showing support. Go Mean Green
  21. If you need a 3x5 or 4x6 UNT battle (Texas) flag, be sure to stop by the bike shop on Elm Street. Joe put them in stock for us, so let's get them out!
  22. UNT practice was going on this afternoon with temperature well over 100. I cannot imagine how a team practicing in Idaho will have conditioning even close to UNT for a game here on August 31.
  23. Not the regional Fox Sports Southwest, but the new nationwide Fox Sports 1 which starts August 17.
