  1. And that card said game dates are subject to change.
  2. The crowd was not impressive, but the win certainly was. He had to like what he saw.
  3. And if we had just taken care of business against Monroe, the conference record is 9-11, and seeded seventh.
  4. This wasn't one of the ten games I bought tickets to, as I usually have Thursday night conflicts. Was thinking of buying a ticket for the seniors when greenjoe offered his to me. I agree with KRAM1 on the great meal (and capacity crowd) in MG hospitality room. If I recall correctly, ASU scored first and then we scored ten straight and never looked back. Frankly, I thought this was best conference game the guys played all year. Sure the 75% shooting a few games back was amazing, but that game was all about shooting. Tonight was about hustle, passing, assists, rebounds, defense, and shooting from inside and out - against a team that came in with four straight and 5 of 6 in February. Sitting behind the ASU bench, my take is they were really frustrated with the UNT effort. You have to feel better about this otherwise disappointing season after the last three weeks, and especially after tonight. GREAT WIN! And, a decent halftime to boot.
  5. From the CUSA website, which is as of January 30... SATURDAY, NOVEMBER 2 East Carolina at FIU Tulane at Florida Atlantic Southern Miss at Marshall Middle Tennessee at UAB Rice at North Texas UTSA at Tulsa UTEP at Texas A&M Also from the same website... A schedule of televised games will be released at a later date. Conference USA's national television partners are Fox Sports Media Group and CBS Sports Network for regular season games. The league's ninth annual Championship Game, pitting the champions of the East and West Divisions, is scheduled for Saturday, December 7 and will be televised by ESPN or ESPN 2.
  6. He will have to wait a few days for another chance at 500.
  7. Jordan Williams 9 of 11, including 7 0f 9 threes. No freebies! Twenty-five points.
  8. I am not writing off game against Ohio. Sure, they went 9-4, but four wins game against teams with a combined 5-43 record and three other wins came against teams with losing records. Yes, they won at State College in the season opener against a still shocked Penn State team. And yes, they beat an inconsistent ULM team in a bowl game. Point is that 9-4 record is not as impressive as it looks.
  9. So we hired a coach whose style doesn't even come close to matching the strengths of our players?
  10. Somebody posted and I need to find the website that lists future games, but Tulsa is NOT on the non-conference schedule for UNT. I agree those games were probably voided once we joined CUSA. As of a few weeks ago, that schedule was as follows: 2014: at Texas, SMU here, at Indiana 2015: at SMU, at Iowa 2016: SMU here, at Florida, at Army 2017: Army here, at Iowa, at SMU 2018: at Army, at Arkansas, SMU here 2019: Army here To keep six home games, we need one more in 2014, and two each in 2015 through 2018.
  11. My bad, my eyes gravitated to my birthday on the calendar - the 29th. Old habit.
  12. We play at Southern Mississippi on Saturday the 26th. That will have to be rescheduled if we expect to play on the 31st. Without seeing Southern Mississippi's schedule, this would have to be November 16.
  13. Need 30,000 people wearing one on August 31.
  14. Still wondering what time this game will start. Student sections will probably be very warm at 6:00 on August 31.
  15. North Texas was 24-of-32 (75%) from the floor as a team on Saturday against Florida International. It is the best team field goal percentage in a Division I game this season (min. 30 FGA). ESPN Stats & Information Great to see the shooting come around, but cannot expect to repeat 75%.
  16. Loved the rope jumping a couple of weeks ago, but that halftime probably had all the rope jumpers in the county.
  17. I didn't realize they were supporting the team. Seems like the tailgating continued while the games were being played.
  18. I think Zach Orr would already rank well within the linebackers on the ballot. Y'Barro needs a couple more solid years to get noticed among many All-Americans and all-conference offensive linemen already on the ballot.
  19. My votes, not yet cast and subject to change... QB: Steve Ramsey, 22-6-1 record, three-time all conference, most TD passes RB: Cobbs, Dunbar, Haynes TE: Muenchow (no strong opinion here) WR: Quinn, Shanklin, which I could name a couple more OL: Bishop, Carrico, Holloway, Parker, Randle DL: Greene, Hardeman, Kennedy easy top three, plus Awasom makes four LB: Gross, Kassell, Robertson, Washington - too early to vote for Zach Orr DB: Beatty, Dunlap, Lockhart, Smith P: Went with Baker based on three-time all conference and stats, Gowin would be second, and wanted to vote for Will Atterberry K: Chapman Return: Haynes, one of the best ever Why even punt to a guy who averages 39.3 yards on return??? Coach: Mitchell
  20. That game against Arkansas in 1968 .. we had what looked like a touchdown Ramsey to Shanklin called back because official says Shanklin trapped a low pass. My seat was low and I didn't see the ball hit the ground, but we were not going to get that call against a team in the hunt for a national championship that year. Still think the 66-67-68 teams were our best ever, with wins against quality opponents.
  21. I am totally with Harry on this. Might add that, given recruiting starts at junior class in high school, this is first recruiting class that Mac had complete responsibility for. Now I am really curious about the August 31 throwback uniforms. A bit of Joe Greene and a bit of Hayden Fry???
  22. I too loved the event last night. Coach Mac was obviously pumped by the turnout.
