  3. Should have started with the more important news Harry. Photographers TheWestie and Al Key won first place place in sports photography. Key was recognized for a photo of Burleson Centennial High School base runner Nate Menchaca being forced out at home plate by Denton High School catcher Dylan Tekell during a game last year at Bronco Field. TheWestie’s shot featured University of North Texas linebacker Zach Orr blocking a field goal attempt by Middle Tennessee State University kicker Cody Clark in October at Apogee Stadium.

  4. You know, I hate to sound negative, but other than having the good sense to hire Coach Mac, what is so praise worthy of our program. Yes, a new stadium was built, thanks to the student vote (and UNTFLYER). But Apogee is starting it's fourth season and we've yet to have a sell out. There needs to be many non-coaching staff working for the University that is just as pumped as Mac and just as capable of grabbing the mic at a moments notice and extoling the virtues of the "Mean Green" and getting people excited. As a program, we all stand back and let Mac do it. And I'm telling everyone for the umpteenth time IT'S NOT HIS JOB AND HE CAN'T DO IT ALL!

  5. Ummm ..... y'all do realize that Jordan Williams and Jordon Williams, whose tweet y'all are arguing about, are two different players, right? This thread started about Jordan Williams, a 2015 LB from Paris, and has turned into an argument about Jordon Williams, a 2015 DB from Jersey Village. The Jersey Village DB got the Arkansas offer. Not the Paris LB.

  6. The campaign won't tilt until 10,000, and I'm not going to reneg on the terms I set forth. That would be a gross breach of fiduciary responsibility on my part. If it doesn't tilt, and you want to go through this thread after the end date and contact people via pm, that's your business, but I'm not going to just flip the switch and charge a bunch of credit cards when the contingencies weren't met.

  7. "No game is a clear-cut loss; yes, that even includes Texas, which will still be in the grind of a learning curve under Charlie Strong and the Longhorns' first-year staff. That's still a likely loss, obviously"

  8. I liked Walters and Joseph a lot, but the two replacements add valuable experience. Both played NFL ball and one coached NFL dbs. Walters and Joseph were young and up and coming coaches, but they were pretty much still viewed as learning the ropes with little input in my opinion. Skladany still ran everything. With the pro experience, they will probably have more credibility and input.

  12. I agree, but from what I have encountered the professors at UNT, at least the ones I have had, are not sports type of people. They could care less what North Texas does in athletics. The one professor exception I had that was a sports guy didn't even know North Texas was a FBS "major" college football program. Still doesn't excuse the lack of general school spirit from the faculty. A lot of them need to step their game up. It wouldn't take 30 seconds to give a shout out to the football team during the fall semester. A lot of students idolize their professors and would take note to a little something like that. GMG

  18. 2013 is correct. If you ever watched the sideline after one of those plays,it wasn't the postion coach that was chewing ass. I also witnessed a broken white board at the Southern Miss game after a long pass completion. Believe me, Skladany drives the ship, the other guys are just facilitators.

  26. Dang, can't wait for the Mean Green to take the field again. The wait is killing me. Especially this year with all the unanswered questions coming off a great year. Can't wait to see Coach Mac getting these guys pumped. I'm sure glad we have the leader we do and super excited that we signed him to a longer contract too! Oh...and what our new unis will look like!! Haha GO MEAN FREAKIN GREEN!!

  38. I was there in Norman in 2007 for that game and OU could have really made it even worse. I think they ran the ball up the middle the entire 2nd half so it wasn't 300-0. Really respect OU for their sportsmanship that day, very embarrassing. I believe that was Coach Dodges first game as our Head Coach.

  42. Oh Arkansas offered? Guess he's intrigued by the idea of going 1-7 in conference play and 3-9 overall. Because that is exactly where Arkansas will be at for the next 2-3 years, at least. Their entire offense has Q marks aside from RB, and their '14 signing class isn't going to solve those problems. UA's D is like the Dan Le Batard TV show, highly questionable. Go ahead though and run to that "name brand."

  43. I know what Arkansas is going to do because the past has a way of repeating itself. I am from Arkansas and followed their team for years. They have a way of being subpar most years and celebrating 8-win seasons. Exception to this was the Petrino era where he played to the teams' strengths. The new guy in town, Bret Bielema, is trying to turn that program into a Wisconsin/Bama type team. That's not gonna work at Arkansas. As for knowing how they will perform, go look at their roster. Their options at QB will produce pedestrian play at best. This "rebuilding" effort that Bielema has in place will take 3-4 years, and that's if he lands the type of talent he needs. Arkansas historically recruits the state of Arkansas heavily and Arkansas doesn't offer a well of talent, usually. Just putting what I see on the table. Williams hasn't even committed yet and if Ar has offered a couple more P5's will probably follow suit, so relax a little.

  46. I personally find Paul Brown's last name offensive and think he should change it so that I can feel better. That also goes for anyone with the last name White, Black, or Red. They should all change their last name to Beige. I'm quite sure no one has ever been called beige, so it's a pretty non-offensive term. Oh, and about the Browns being named after Paul Brown? Maybe, maybe not: http://mentalfloss.com/article/25650/whats-nickname-origins-all-32-nfl-team-names Surly the second possibility offends no one, right?
