The Specs family ..... The Rydmans I believe.... are big supporters of North Texas and thus I am a big supporter of their stores. Something to think about the next time you need to stock the liquor cabinet or the cooler.

Both the husband and wife are grads of NT. Music majors in the 60's I think.

They opened a new store in Dallas at 75 & Walnut Hill recently. Several of the NT music school bands came and played at the grand opening and anyone wearing a green shirt got the employee discount on their entire order.

I was surprised by the UNT Steel Drum Band that day. It made you want to sit back and drink an island cocktail. It would be great to hear them play during tailgating.

I always tell people its the Wal-Mart for drinkers and their deli is awesome. I just found a Spec's in Plano that will get my business. I didn't know they where UNT alumni. Pretty cool. I love Spec's even more now.

Ya UN-Texas (sorry that's how I read it) they are eveywhere down here and the stores are great so not exactly hard to give them business. I belive they have naming rights to the future dark spot on my liver.

      After UAB swept us in the regular season, then proceeded to win more games we needed them to lose, and lose games we needed them to win, it's nice for ECU to put an end to their season. Hopefully we can win our fourth straight against the Pirates tomorrow.

      I don't see the eventual SEC/BIG10 vs the world thing working out long-term. Sure, USC-Michigan may be fun once in a while but there's no history to support the matchup. There's no regional rivalry. Those college kids aren't a 2 hour drive away to terrorize each other. Eventually, they're going to alienate half the college football fanbase because some of us may watch these games on Saturdays right now because it's football and it's a new match-up but they mean nothing to us long-term either so we won't keep watching them. I don't care to watch an SEC or BIG10 game if it means nothing to the greater landscape of college football. These are not the games football fans want, it's the games networks want. It will fail. An Oregon State fan will never be an Oregon fan. A Texas Tech fan will never be a Texas fan. A Florida State fan will never be a Florida fan. The markets are what they are. They won't change. Not anytime soon at least. Good luck, networks. This is why y'all keep cutting your staff and losing money (especially you, ESPN).

      He is in retirement mode and not about to take that on. However, I would like to hear the AD's opinion on the subject. Strangely quiet in the castle lately. Is the Morris-talk code for we need to decide what to do with our limited funds? Buildings benefit more players and fans. But salaries seem to be top priority for players these days...then they leave us anyway!
