Anyone frequent wi-fi on a plane?

I'll be on a plane when the season kicks off with iPad in hand. This flight is equipped with wifi so I should be able to watch it. (kind of cool actually)

I've never used wifi on a plane. Is it fast? Anyone have experience with it?

I try to get it every time I fly if it is available on that particular plane. I have probably used it on five or six flights and my experience has been good. Not sure if there is more than one service available but the one that American Airlines uses is Gogo Inflight Internet. They have a 24 hour pass and a monthly pass. I have found it to be the same speed as using the internet at other times on my 3G IPhone. On my last flight I used my wife's IPad and the video I watched seemed normal. I suggest you set up an account with that service before your flight and have your log in / password handy when you are allowed to turn on your electronic devices so that you are not wasting time trying to get set up.
