Seeing Indiana check in right below us is good news. That game should be a good barometer for the remainder of the season. I think if we have a good showing at FIU, we'll keep the Houston game close, but I don't anticipate winning. Coming out of our first four games 1-3 or possibly 2-2 would be great going into the Tulsa game and SBC play. I'm hoping for a Ball State-type nose dive for Tulsa after the departure of Graham. Get into SBC play with a 3-2 record, and we could be bowl eligible (WHOA! did I just type that?) after the season is over!

Of course, if we drop to Indiana at home, then I would not be as optimistic...

Good article on North Texas. I feel like the guy really has done his homework and has a good take on things.

By and large, I agree. He was off on a couple facts (such as thinking that Craig Robertson was MLB last year instead of A.J. Penson). But for someone who doesn't live and breathe North Texas football, he seems very informed as to what is going on.

As for his comments on the tight end, I assume he meant in a receiving capacity. Yes, we did line up a tight end quite a bit more last year, but we didn't throw him the ball much at all.

A very fair assessment of where the program stands and of expectations for the upcoming season.
