Story On Gilmore

No reason for the absence?

"The upcoming season will be the second Gilmore has missed during his time at UNT.

Former UNT head coach Darrell Dickey confirmed in the days leading up to the 2006 campaign that Gilmore had failed to meet NCAA eligibility requirements for his sophomore season."

= Grades then? Now?

I'm now sure Vitto reads this message board. He's determined to tick off the UNT faithful by working in 2-10 into every story he writes. I can just see it now ...

Vitto is writing a story about UNT's enrollment ... "and UNT is expecting to have record enrollment in the fall which is surprising considering the football team had a very disappointing 2-10 season last year." Or ... "UNT is looking forward to getting the law school started which is surprising considering the football team had a very disappointing 2-10 season last year."

I can see Vitto's tombstone ... "Husband, father, and beat writer for the disappointing 2-10, 2007 North Texas football team."

Geez ... and some wonder why Dodge doesn't seem to like this guy.

Hey, here's a thought. If you're so sensitive about having your 2-10 record mentioned in articles....don't go 2-10.

Brett does a good job.

Seconded.

EDIT: And, unlike some of his critics, at least the man can spell.

LOL!!!

And just another reason why I don't get all that excited about recruiting each year.

Gilmore was among the Mean Green’s highest-rated recruits in its 2005 class and was ranked among the top 100 recruits in the state by the Houston Chronicle after his senior season.

No matter how good his limited stats were, nt is better off without him. The program needs to surround the itsef with good student athletes at this point and he was definately not one.
