FAU?

I've read that Florida is the lightning capital of the country. So it must be either FAU or UCF since FIU has long been chosen, The four Florida BCS programs are probably Top 50.

Who is No. 76?: In 1926, as the starting quarterback and student body president, John “Button” Salmon, lay dying following a car accident, he implored his teammates to “Bear down,” inspiring the university’s fight song.

Site of another heart-breaking NT road loss to a BCS team, the University of Arizona.

Down 7-6 with 2:30 left in the first half, we drive 61 yards to the UA 19 yard line. With :02 seconds left in the half, UA blocks a field goal attempt, and returns it for a TD.

Seems like another game-changing event occurred later in the game.

Who is No. 75?: Like a middle-school social studies teacher, the Countdown is checking your knowledge of current events: a former head coach at this university was just tapped as the first head coach of the burgeoning Georgia State football program, set to begin play on the Football Championship Series level in 2010.

What about our wide reciever headed for the endzone only to have it stripped from behind at the goal line, then Patrick Cobbs leaping over the goal line on another drive on 4th down and the refs marking him down at the 1. Replay clearly showed the ball made it over. That game should have been a blowout.

Who is No. 69?: Though one of two A.C.C. coaches with N.F.L. head coaching experience, this university’s coach is the only one to have led a team to both an N.F.L. playoff game and an F.B.S. bowl game.
