Former Coach Tim Jankovich Doing Well

Former UNT men's basketball coach Tim Jankovich was hired at Illinois State last March, and in his first year his team went 24-9 and finished second in the Missouri Valley Conference.

Prior to this season, he'd been an assistant under Bill Self at Illinois and Kansas.

Good to see someone with UNT history doing well.

Also, former UNT player Danny Kaspar is having a heckuva year at SFA.

Illinois State, got pummeled by Drake in the Mo Valley finals. But, Drake is good (top 25?)....and the Mo Valley has such a good rep as a mid-major...that I would think that Illinois State is a lock for a NCAA at large bid.

I hope the Redbirds and Lumberjacks both make the Dance.

Go Coach Jankovich! Illinois State will probably get in as an at large. Hopefully the blowout loss won't hurt their seed too much.

Jankovich was a good coach, he would have had success at North Texas if it was not for Helwig, in my opinion.

ISU got a 2 seed in the NIT, so they may advance deep. Anyways, I found this video of the former coach talking about them getting left out. Sorta brought back memories of his old coaches show on NTTV from back in the day.

Illinois Stae beat Utah State 61-57 in a rather good contest tonight. The move onto the 2nd round where they will host the Dayton Flyers. It's nice to see Coack Jankovich having alot of success.
