Need some help. My brother's best friend in HS, had an older brother that played QB in college, and it wasnt until this weekend I was told he played at North Texas in the very early 70's. I thought it would be fun to see what I could dig up on him, statistics, etc. His name was Phil Shotland. We're not sure how much or if he started, but would have attented UNT around 1970-1974. Anyone know anything? Or what's the best way to dig up a roster that far back, etc? Any help is appreciated.

According to the media guide, Phil Shotland played from 71 to 73. He started the 73 season for Hayden Fry, and was the total offense leader with 946 yards (-13 rushing and 959 passsing). I remember him as being a drop back type passer and not very mobile. His best passing day was 370 yards (59 passes thrown) against San Diego State in 1971. We lost that game 28-44.

Our record in 73 was 5-5-1.

I can't remember where he played HS football.

Thanks SilverEagle! He attended Bishop Lynch HS, Dallas. Same school as Devin Cox. So this media guide youre looking at, is it a hard copy you have, or did you find something online?
