Tulsa & LaTech

Hate to pour salt in an open sore but:

The two Mid-Major teams we were to beat this year, Tulsa and LaTech are bowl bound with, current, 7-4 records:

Their defeats:

LaTech lost to: #10 Florida (8-3), Kansas (6-5), Nevada (8-3)also CO-WAC champ and Bosie State (9-3) also CO-WAC champ.

Tulsa lost to: Minnesota (7-4), #18(then) Oklahoma (7-4), Houston (6-5) and UTEP (8-3).

These were tough teams this year!!

In hindsight, UNT was only a touchdown away in every SBC game to go UNDEFEATED in the SBC, again.

Next Year!!

Has the board got some type of "who can be the most negative" contest going on? 1. The season sucked 2. Someone wasn't nice to me 3. We couldn't beat a high school team 4. I yelled but I'm offended that someone yelled back 5. Let's lynch everyone associated with UNT athletics 6. Nobody listens to me and I know I'm right. etc,etc,etc,etc,etc,....................

Step back and try to enjoy the Holiday Season biggrin.gif Have a Merry Christmas, a happy Holiday Season and a great New Year biggrin.gif The world IS NOT coming to an end ! biggrin.gif

Just curious, but where is La Tech going for a bowl? The WAC has 2 bowl games left - Boise has accepted the Boise Bowl as part of their tri-champ deal... La Tech and Nevada are tied for the other tri-WAC; but Nevada owns the tie-breaker - thus they should be going to the other WAC bowl game - Hawaii. So where is La Tech going? Someone pick them up as an at large team?

As I occasionally watch the Tulsa-UCF CUSA Championship game before a very nice crowd in Florida, I can't help think that we were poised for our breakout year in '04, with wins against both these teams in '05. We were not even close. And now UCF and a successful La Tech (curses under his breath) are forging ahead of us. I'm frustrated and jealous. mad.gif

The last word I had heard was that Tech would go to Hawaii IF Oregon makes the BCS leaving the Pac-10 short in Las Vegas and that Nevada would go to Las Vegas freeing up the Hawaii bowl for Tech. That's the only Tech to a bowl game scenario I've heard, there might be others.

I also heard PSU going to the BCS means the Big 10 slot for the Motor City Bowl opens up as well, but I can only vaguely remember this being mentioned, I may have imagined it. huh.gif

that is a possibility as well, I believe I read that on the ncaabbs CUSA boards,

It will be UTEP to the GMAC, Tulsa to Liberty, Memphis to Lafayette,Houston to Ft. Worth, and UCF to Hawaii.
