Well isn’t that nice. I mean. Why doesn’t our athletic department try to make us feel more connected as a community? The feeling I get and I may be way off but it’s how I feel as a long time supporter:
1. Please make a contribution. Help us continue to soar. That is great but it feels really one sided. What do we get? We get to support the Green. Well we are going to do that anyway.
2. Coaches caravans. Nice but where is the interesting? I will see the same lovely people. I will get to talk hopeful about 2024. But I’m talking the sizzle. Going to a paid event that supports the university our athletes hearing a sports legend present. That’s sizzle.
3. What does EM think of the upcoming season, our fans, our challenges, dragons to slay, mountains to climb…
I like some things Jared has done but I’m talking about some revolutionary ideas for UNT athletics which seem to have been missing for decades. Rick Wren and Jared are trying, but to see UTSA spark its community out of the gate 20 times faster than what I’ve seen for nearly 40 years is terrible.
Take the big donors to a social in a suite this fall. Create some events for the summer bored to jump into while readying the Mean Green for whatever season we are going to have.
Sorry, what is happening in the Alamo city triggered.
