A bit of trivia.

If you come across an image of this Scrappy that has NTSC on its sweater, then it is a pre-1961 image.  All images with NTSU on the sweater are post-1961.

someone posted a link to a site where these images are being sold on t-shirts and hoodies. I bought some, but I can't remember the name of the on-line provider.

was created in 1948? I was told a long time ago that Bill McClanahan drew it, but I could never find out a date. What is your source?

I believe it was a McClanahan cartoon not long after the 1948 Salad Bowl. The eagle had NTSC on the chest. One of the two "McClanahan NTSC Scrappy" statues I have came with a note that it was a 1950 graduation gift. The statues were made by Adah Art Studios of Dallas and it was probably a year after the comic that the castings were made.
