Love the triple option.... except when I have to stop it.

My last year as an OC in an area high school, we were a triple option team.

We didn't throw for 300 yards on the season, but we rushed for over 3000 and half our completions were for touchdowns.

It is a great offense and most guys that know how to run it or stop it are retired.

I love the triple option offense. Our qb in high school couldn't throw the ball very well, so we switched to this offense. Teams would load the middle, so we would run speed options to counter it. The defense would then spread everyone out, so we would get big gains up the middle. It's great for teams with smaller athletic linemen. The way to beat an option team is to stay disciplined on defense and win the battles in the trenches.
