  1. We got to the main entrance about 10 minutes before the gates opened at 5:30. By the time my friend stopped to get a program, the line for hats had at least a couple hundred people. We got in line and got our hats quickly. By the time we got ours, that line stretched from section 30 near home almost to behind the outfield. The fans in line represented a good mix of all age groups. The drawing for the helmet was a great idea, and Taryn was passing out football schedules to those in line. With the game not starting until 8:05, we had plenty of time to walk around and decide which of the expensive food choices would be our supper. We didn't even go sit down until about 7:00, and the Hall of Fame ceremony started at 7:20. Hurts to give up three runs in the ninth, including a two-run homer with two out, but it was a fun night to see all that green.
  2. Going, section 36, row 25 - may take my glove.
  3. SMU for sure and seriously considering La Tech.
  4. Likely better seats than the goal line seats in their visitor section that will likely come from UNT office.
  5. We are planning to take the trains. Have not decided on ordering tickets through our ticket office or directly from SMU.
  6. My suggestion of the $200 value was not intended to be suggested opening bid. I agree with starting lower than that.
  7. We do not expect to have tickets until late July / early August, so you need to create a certificate for your auction item. Between the tickets and the parking, I would put a $200 value on the package. Note that it also includes pre-game buffet and club access.
  8. Rick, considering the '66 '67 and '68 teams had five total losses (3 to Memphis and one each to Arkansas and Tulsa) and played well against highly ranked teams, I would say they were the best when measured against NCAA football in that era. Today's teams are bigger and stronger, so obviously those late 60's teams would not do as well today. Richard
  9. I attended that 1968 game in Little Rock against Arkansas. NT had a winning touchdown pass called back when the official ruled that Ron Shanklin trapped the ball on the ground. My seat was low enough that I knew that was a bad call.
  10. I used to see a lot of the WBB games when we had Sun Belt double headers. The C-USA schedule format means twice as many trips to Denton to see both MBB and WBB.
  11. Still a chance for seven home games in 2019.
  12. Let's hope so. Somebody at C-USA should have thought about that before the 2013 schedule was prepared. Best chance might be a reshuffle may be if and after UAB is replaced. Must admit, I would hate to lose UAB basketball from the conference.
  13. For 2015, only if CUSA Championship is at Apogee.
  14. Brian Ochs is listed twice. Also, roster numbers are now available for spring transfers on the AD website.
  15. This would only increase the advantage the P5 teams have over the others.
  16. And Denton County was dry, at least officially.
  17. Attendance 1,946 tonight with probably 200 to 300 students plus band, cheerleaders, and dancers. I don't think we ever had fewer than 3,000 to 4,000 STUDENTS in Men's Gym during the 1960's Missouri Conference era. NTSU record wasn't fantastic then, but students supported the team. Not happening now.
  18. I had Dallas Mavericks tickets for ten years from mid 80's to mid 90's - some very good years and some not so good. Whenever a Maverick run forced the opponents to call a time out, the arena production crew was ready with up tempo music that kept the crowd going and enhanced the home court advantage. The crew at the Pit needs to deviate from the time-out scripts when the game calls for it.
  19. Great basketball last two home games. Hope some potential fans catch on to that. We had a good run in the first half to take the lead after being 11 down, and then another good run in second half to take back the lead. We didn't see those good runs by the good guys during the first half of the season. My buddy and I are again leaving the wives at home to attend the game Saturday. Mine is happy with flowers to her office. Though I may not have as strong a voice as I used to, I do not sit silently in the front row seats I have this year. Weather permitting (coming up from Flower Mound), I will be at coaches' radio show again on Monday.
  20. Confirming my response to KRAM at coaches' radio show today, I will be there to help out.
  21. Attendance 4,212 with few, if any, Rice fans. Good halftime adjustment on defense. Really enjoyed this one.
  22. You're too old? What does that make me kiddo? I was up and yelling from front row center court most of the night.
