  1. SMU sold out allotment in section 124 and band is in 125, per post on their blog. It also said some fans are buying tickets in section 114. And there were probably be some on the west side.
  2. Got College of Business email plus getting Alumni Association email every day this week. Great job reaching out!
  3. 23,000 Ticketmaster grid looks like under 1000 left on alumni side plus maybe 1000 in lower end zone. Need strong showing in wing and student section. Is the SMU band making the trip? Update: SMU blog saying visitor section 124 is sold out, band is in 125, some buying in section 114, and some looking for tickets. Looks like SMU is showing up - or at least spending the money.
  4. Vito has not picked mine up, so I just sent it again.... Eternal optimist here. Win 4 of 5 among SMU, B-C, Army, UTSA, and UTEP Win 1 of 2 between MTSU and LaTech Prediction: 5-7
  5. Does he have to change jersey numbers to play DT?
  6. Limited lanes and NO PEDESTRIAN ACCESS on NT Blvd bridge next week.
  7. Well today's mail has come and I did NOT get seats and parking passes for Independence Day fireworks show. As I did last year, I was going to offer to friends who have not been at Apogee. Too late now. They took my name for that when I was at the ticket office renewing season tickets and MGC, but FAILED TO DELIVER!
  8. I drove up the ticket office a few weeks ago to renew club seats and Mean Green Club. I took a couple of posters and had one placed at Fuzzy's in Flower Mound.
  9. Great meeting hosted by Keuhne and Sicuro (K&S), especially with the second part that was closed to athletic staff and media. Biggest issue on the complaint side was the poor performance of the ticket office. I think a new ticket manager was recently hired, so I hope the improvement process starts even before a new AD is on board. It was great to see an audience that included MGC members, participants on this forum, previous athletes (from 60's or earlier right up to Roger Franklin), recent graduates (some making first visit to club level), other long-time supporters, and even a few students. Trip's early comments even included the different shades of green in the school colors. Other than what has already been mentioned, other topics included improving the game day experience (especially making better use of UNT music and hospitality programs), establishing traditions, reaching out to alumni and especially former athletes, and issues with some of the facilities. Despite calls by some in this forum to increase student fees, I think any comparison with other universities needs to note a UNT advantage of having 35 thousand students. Funds can be raised by reaching out to groups that have previously been ignored. That said, I wish there is a way to insulate the new AD from the payments being made to departed personnel. As I thought about the game-day experience on the way home last night, I recalled my prior 10-year experience as a Dallas Maverick season ticket holder. At UNT, basketball timeouts are scripted in advance and choreographed accordingly, failing to capitalize on the excitement of a media or opposition time-out during a UNT run. At Maverick games, up tempo music in played at such moments to maintain fan excitement. At UNT, that potential excitement is killed by whatever was already scripted for those timeouts. That is just one example of how the game day experience can be improved. By the way, I love the basketball band. With regard to the hiring decision, I will trust the consultants recommendation. No matter how we feel about a decision that includes or excludes HD, I think we all need to support that decision and give it a chance to work. Now, let's each do what we can to get Apogee filled on September 3.
  10. Yes, we got email about two weeks ago.
  11. For those who can attend and especially for those who cannot, what points or questions do you want raised? Perhaps somebody can recap the meaningful responses and present to the discussion leader(s). Just to start, I will toss out a few: How are UNT athletics viewed by the Board of Regents? How strong is their support? Do we keep strong P5 (body bag) scheduling (1) strictly for revenue or (2) to raise UNT competitiveness? If we can get competitive division FBS games, should we be willing to buy off currently scheduled FCS games? Viability and future of Conference USA? Of course, UNT can help by being more competitive in revenue sports. What should a new AD do to boost attendance and season ticket participation? Does consistent winning need to come first? What can be done to accelerate return of baseball to UNT? Does it really matter if UNT90 is ever happy with UNT athletics?
  12. I will be there! Perhaps we should have name tags with both real names and GMG alias.
  13. Looking forward to hearing about meeting with fans net week.
  14. On a positive note, that is SIX home games in each of the next six years - seven if we host championship game.
  15. Average attendance 5000 plus. Whatever causes that may earn an extension.
  16. Well stated Joe. And yes, I renewed season tickets and MGC last week.
  17. Wish I could give Harry a plus 1 for a great description of what we need. I do, however, prefer somebody with UNT roots.
  18. It seems that early fall games back in late 60's started at 7:00 STANDARD time - that was before the country adopted daylight time. That is equivalent to 8:00 daylight time, and it was almost dark when September and October games started. As much as that would mean cooler starts, it would be tougher for those going back to Dallas or Fort Worth. Once we know the UTSA game day (Thursday or Saturday), we will plan a trip to San Antonio.
  19. I love the idea of higher-seeded teams hosting playoff games. The obvious obstacle to overcome is the additional time required between games due to travel between games.
  20. No tickets required, open stadium, so really no way to count attendance. Parking lots on three sides of stadium plus Bonnie Brae were full.
  21. Three, including Sunday. Trailing 7-4 in 6th inning against Texas Tech as I write this.
  22. We started out at the first softball game, then left middle of third inning to walk over to Apogee. Went up to the club level and watched game/scrimmage from first row. After football, we walked back to watch most of the second softball game. LaTech had a lot of fans at softball games, as UNT dropped both games - the first on run rule in five innings (while we were at Apogee). Keep in mind that Alec Morris was playing against first team defense that seems to be coming together nicely. Great day to be out at the Village.
  23. Until the TV deals are done, we may not know which (if any) game gets shifted from Saturday to Thursday. Seriously considering trip to SA for UTSA game, but want to sure of game date first.
  24. I would love to be where we were for the 1966-1967-1968 seasons with five total losses: one to Tulsa, one to Arkansas, and three to Memphis.
  25. Not sure we should call them MUTS any more.
