  1. Lunch in Club, but plan to browse some 'gates for appetizers.
  2. Nicholls State Head Coach Charlie Stubbs resigned effective today. http://geauxcolonels.com/news/2014/9/14/FB_0914140913.aspx
  3. I signed up to be a volunteer representative for the Mean Green Club this past season. We each were given a list of current MGC members plus some who had been members anytime the past three years. The lists also had football ticket buyers who were not MGC members. I worked my entire list, but the response was very poor other than from current members. Please don't take this as looking for thanks, but rather to let you know there is an effort to contact past members and recent football ticket buyers; and I honestly cannot say how much success the other reps had. Even if most worked their lists, my experience shows that we need something else to get their interest. Since phone calls and letters are not answered, I do not any feedback to share.
  4. Need to wait in Flower Mound for buddy to get off work around 4:00 in McKinney, then we will head up.
  5. Rivalry or not, I am really looking forward to when we can buy tickets to next year's game at SMU. That said, the next ten (or more) 2014 games are more important right now.
  6. "We need to be one of the most improved teams in college football this week." DONE!
  7. Nobody on that thread gave UNT any credit. Instead some trashed us. Looking forward to playing at their house next year.
  8. I got the call yesterday. Volunteer reps for MCG got lists of current and former (as far back as three seasons) members plus ticket buyers who were not members. If those lists were called, he would have reached a lot of former members and ticket buyers. Sure that gets a lot of current participants, but that lets us know that calls are being made. Great idea.
  9. Going into this season, our concern was the DL. After last night, I feel very good about our defense overall. I especially liked the red zone defense early when we held the Horns to a missed FG, and then again in the third quarter when the Horns had to go with a fourth down QB sweep to score. Not generating anything on offense and throwing four interceptions simply made it too easy for the UT offense to score.
  10. OK, I was going to erase it, but now I have look for Christopher's beard. Saw it at the MGC / Alumni tailgate yesterday, so I know what to look for. By the way, that tailgate sold out with a great turnout.
  11. Mine: 1. Not in the heat. 2. IHOP for breakfast in Austin. 3. Czech Stop in West. 4. Clear traffic most of the way. 5. Music (from my generation) on the IPOD all the way home.
  12. With 400 band members taking probably 800 seats at $100, that is $80,000 just for seats before you add transportation, food, and hotels. Personally, I wish we could have used part of the $875,000 payout for that. Could be part of the fallout from recovering the funds issue that was discovered.
  13. Vidal Carlin was second team (JUCO) All American at quarterback in 1964 at Tyler Junior College.
  14. Zach Orr and Richard Abbe Agree Brelan Chancellor was special - especially on returns, but we have depth at receiver. I think we will be OK at linebacker, but Zach Orr was a great defensive player and leader.
  15. Too bad part of the fee we are getting from UT could not be used to bring the Brigade.
  16. I was up in Denton today and noticed the parking spaces in the north lot are now numbered for assigned parking. In case you are in that lot and wondering where your space is, I made a note of the numbers. There are three north-south aisles with a row on each side, making six rows total. Best way to follow this is to have a satellite view open on a separate screen. The row on the west side starts with space 001 (nearest the stadium) and ends at space 033. The next row (same aisle) continues with space 034 (at north end) and ends with space 062 (nearest stadium). In the middle aisle, the third row starts with space 065 (nearest the stadium) and ends with space 095. The fourth row starts with space 096 (at the north end) and ends with space 125 (nearest the stadium). I don't know where spaces 063 and 064 are, or if I wrote one down incorrectly. The third aisle nearest the alumni pavilion does not appear to be finished, but the fifth row starts with space 126 (nearest the stadium) and the numbering stops at space 141 about halfway. Of course the disabled spaces are numbered separately. Otherwise the spaces in the sixth row are not marked yet, but I did notice some painters tape marking where the numbers might go. Anybody in rows 1, 4, 5, or 6 will have some grass at the head of their space. Those at the end of any row will have plenty of grass space for tailgating.
  17. Have to agree with Andrew on this one. That has to be easiest in and out lot at Apogee without having a helicopter. We should have more close in parking on west side once the baseball stadium is built.
  18. ... and Andrew will be on the floor with the other cheerleaders.
  19. This is new for north lot, which is now designated as black lot. I called and confirmed that those spaces are assigned effective this year. Would have helped if they added a notice to that effect.
  20. Section 32 responses so far range from row 13 (mine - how did that happen?) to row 28 (mgfan). Highest seat number posted is 42. That is 672 seats so far in that section. still hoping we have at least 1,000 there.
  21. Got mine today. North end zone parking is now the "black" lot, and I noticed the parking passes have assigned spaces.
