  1. Memo to self: Do not renew MBB season tickets. Get WBB season tickets instead.
  2. http://espn.go.com/college-football/story/_/id/14556412/ncaa-accepts-louisiana-lafayette-ragin-cajuns-self-imposed-sanctions-fraud-probe Admissions testing numbers were revised for some players.
  3. Once the new American Sports Network (ASN) gets a cable channel of its own, there could be a separate TV contract with them. They carry a lot of C-USA games, but currently only broadcast over the air where they can find outlets in smaller markets. Last Saturday's game with Rice was carried by ASN, with Dave Barnett announcing.
  4. The old contract was probably based on participation of some of the teams that left for AAC. If UNT starts playing well enough to generate more interest in DFW area, the TV payouts will increase. Ditto for the UNT - Rice - UTSA dynamic impacting the top three markets in Texas.
  5. Would have been there, but had an important conference call that went 11:30 to 12:30. Should be there for remaining weeks.
  6. I picked it up in first OT on meangreenstats.com . Very good on phone and great on tablet such as iPad. It is always more current than the ESPN app.
  7. Can only give one plus for this, but it merits more than that.
  8. Does anybody know if Kenny Buyers plans to come back for another season after missing 2015 with injury? Would having Jeffrey Wilson available have made a difference at the SMU game? Remember UNT was ahead late in Q3. We open September 3 at Apogee against SMU. With a new coaching team, improvement at key positions, and a revamped offense, shouldn't we push for a huge turnout at that game? If SMU folks know about the DART / DCTA / shuttle alternative to I-35, they might even show up.
  9. Now if the Cowboys are willing to get a real general manager and get their act together, how cool for UNT if Antonio Johnson, Derek Akunne, and Lance Dunbar (or at least two of those) are playing for them. Now that would give UNT exposure in the DFW area.
  10. Meanwhile, back to KRAM's question which I have not seen an answer for...... I have not seen anything either and was wondering the same.
  11. Rally House in Flower Mound did not have any UNT stuff when they first opened, but they told me it was coming. Since then, they started small but later expanded the UNT section. Richard
  12. The game program sheet last night stated that UNT is near the top in the country for free throw ATTEMPTS. When you cannot hit free throws, you get fouled a lot, you shoot a lot of free throws, you lose a lot of games.
  13. Saw the MBB change on Facebook and then checked schedule on athletic website. Was looking forward to our last double header. Should be up there by 6:00.
  14. Let them call us anything BUT University of North Texas until we start being competitive.
  15. Absolutely do not like facing the same east teams two years in a row and not seeing the others through two seasons. With seven teams in the east and UNT playing three each year, this pattern means we will not see one of the teams for at least four years! Also, would like to see a one-time shift in the home and away for one Texas school, so that we get at least one Texas opponent at home each year.
  16. It seems early, but I received email announcing 2016 season tickets today. Price per ticket is lower than 2015, and select groups (recent alumni, for example) will have access to discounted tickets in prime sections. DENTON - Season tickets for 2016 North Texas football season are now on sale through the Mean Green athletics ticket office. North Texas will play a six-game home schedule, and season tickets are available for as little as $60 for general admission to $160 for premium reserved seats. The price per ticket for 2016 is decreased from last season, with premium reserved sideline seating priced at under $27 per game as opposed to $28 per game in 2015. Previously, recent graduates, faculty, staff and letter winners could purchase discounted season tickets in the Sideline reserved sections, but for the 2016 season those discounts are also offered in the Priority 1, Priority 2, Sideline, and End Zone reserved-seat sections. Families can once again take advantage of the Ultimate Mean Green Fan Pack, which offers season tickets for $125 each and include a $10 concession voucher for each game. The Mean Green will open the season against Metroplex rival SMU on Sept. 3 at Apogee Stadium, followed by a second non-conference home game against Bethune-Cookman, which posted a 9-2 record in 2015. North Texas will also host four Conference USA opponents at Apogee in 2016.
  17. I (aka Richard Steenson) did participate - only five games too optimistic at 6-6. Three of those misses were obviously SMU, Portland State, and UTEP. The other two were taking two among Rice, Western Kentucky, and a road game. It is probably best that we played the best teams in the eastern division this year, meaning we should get the easier teams next year.
  18. +1's have been suspended for UNT90 until a new coach signs a contract
  19. Dang, I did not see the coffee, or I would have grabbed a cup. I have club seats, but watched the entire game outside. My wife surrendered to the indoor comforts at halftime.
  20. After reading all these varied opinions, I say let the new coach decide.
  21. Open at home September 3 against SMU and with a new coach. Please let it be at night so we can fill Apogee.
  22. This team is especially impressive considering two players were lost before the season, four more are transfers sitting out a year, and only 9 ladies are available to play. They cannot risk foul trouble with aggressive play. Think I saw somewhere they will add a walk-on for the spring semester.
  23. UNT went cold from middle of third period to middle of fourth period, and lost 51-44.
