NT Daily: Campus housing grows

The problem, to my understanding, is that the state doesn't pay for dorms, or parking lots for that matter. The money has to come from somewhere, but the students dont want to pay extra fees, so there is a room shortage and a parking space shortage.

The State expects us to have 40,000 students in the near future, fees will have to be raised to pay for dorms and parking lots. Hopefully the State will pay for new classroom buildings.

Another snag that I have heard about is the State doesn't allow public universities to begin more construction on more than one new building per year. Although I don't know if that is true.

The EESAT and Murchison were both constructed at the same time (same construction company, as a matter of fact).
