Next Week's Home Game

Yes, there are problems with North Texas football 2007.

The defense...leaks (I'm reminded of the line from the movie Absence of Malice: "You call what's goin' on around here a leak? Boy, the last time there was a leak like this, Noah built hisself a boat.") Special teams are inconsistent. The offense piles up yards but makes key mistakes. There are too many turnovers, not enough protection for the quarterback. We're 0-5.

But now is the time for us fans to get out to Fouts next week and continue our support. Use those tickets. If you can't, give them to somebody who can. Encourage people to attend. This is the only real contribution fans can make, folks, and this is a week we can make a difference. Our vocal support shows the team we're with them and that we're not fair-weather fans, and it sends a message to visiting recruits that the fan base is solidly behind the team and is eager for a winner.

You want to be like SMU and see attendance drop like a rock when things go bad? Or do you want to be better than the f-ing Ponies? Then damn-well f-ing SHOW UP next week.

Complaining is fine. Bitching is fine. But failing to attend next week is not an option if this program is going to grow.

You sir are correct - we need to show up at the game - but at 0 - 5, it will be hard to get 20,000.

I think it is the single biggest challenge we as fans have faced so far this year. But wouldn't it be remarkable for an 0-5 team to have 20,000 attend next week?
