North Texas men's basketball coach Johnny Jones has reached an agreement in principal with the school for a five-year contract extension that will be announced tonight at the team's annual postseason banquet, multiple athletic department sources said Wednesday.

Jones, who was headed into the last year of his contract, led UNT to the NCAA Tournament last season for the first time since 1988.

Terms of the deal are expected to finalized within the next few days.

The true rating of this class will come in acouple of years. As much as I'm disappointed right now, we have no clue how good these guys may be.

Sorry CMJ - I know we made the tourney, but we still finished 5th in the conference, and if we don't get some good players off of this momentum, then it will hurt.
