Recruiting Observations And Recruiting Guess's

NT has 3 Seniors that will graduate and one transfer who left (Fleming) so that could open up 4 slots for recruiting.

Here is my wish list:

1. Small Forward Joseph Fulce 6-7, 180, Rivals ranking as 3 *, He is shown as having an offer from NT. He is a Plano HS transfer to Massanutten Military Academy. TX Hoops "Joseph is a fluid athlete who glides to the hole and finisheds with very good body control in the lane. He has a nice stroke from 16 feet and can hit the 3 point shot. He runs the floor well, is active without the ball, has good hands, is a nice rebounder and has a long and lean basketball built."

2. Shooting Guard Jordan Smith 6-3, 175 attending God's Academy transfer from Colleyville Heritage Ranked # 25 in TX Hoops He is shown as having an offer from NT. TX Hoops analysis: "Jordan is an outstanding shooter with range beyond the three point line, can put the ball on the floor to get by a defender. Can lead the break, has good handles, will rebound, has a nice long body with length, is a good perimeter defender."

3. Combo guard Kevin Busby-Hayden 6-0, 165 Dallas Spruce. Ranked # 52 in the state of Texas by TX Hoops. There is no record of an offer from NT but articles indicate NT is recruiting him and he is quoted as saying he "really likes what NT hs to offer with its location and conference. Another good reason...my father went to school there (NT) and played." TX Hoops " Kevin is a combo guard that runs the point very well, he is heady with the ball, makes good decisions, moves without the ball, has a good understanding of the game, will get the ball to the open man, runs the run, is a good defender, has a soft outside stroke, will enetrate and pull-up for a mid range player."

4. My surprise choice; Power Forward Anthony Harris, 6-7, 225 OD Wyatt in Fort Worth HS now playing for FT. Worth Christian Life Center Academy. Originally signed to play BB with Prairie View A&M but didn't get his SAT score. He was recruited for both FB (TE) and Basketball. He is shown with an offer from NT. Texas Hoops " Anthony is a very talented player with nice skills and a soft touch. He has good moves on the low block, has a soft touch out to 18 feet and is a very good free throw shooter. He is an excellant passer off the low block, sets his teammates up for easy baskets, is a good rebonder and can intimidate and block shots in the paint. He has a strong body and uses it to power his way to the hole.

He played with the Dallas Mustangs this past off season at the Great American Shootout in Denton before enrolling in Gods Academy.

Rumors are all over the place on the possibility of a transfer from another college who would have to sit out a year and then have two years to play for NT. If this come true this player may he may take the place of my number 1-4. This will be a highly rated player who could be better than any of the above listed players. Cross your fingers on this one.

North Texas has just three scholarships to give. Not Four.

Mike Sturns returned to the team as a walk-on. All 13 scholarships were already taken when Sturns was re-instated to the team. Sturns got the scholarship that Flemming gave up.

10 returning scholarship players:

Seniors: Williams, Wooden, Sturns, Bell and Jackson

Juniors: Dennis, Stewart, Edwards and Howerton

Sophomore: Mangrum
