Talk About A 'salty Group' That Headed To Lafayette

Recommended Posts

Gotta say our team didn't go to Lafayette to play in the tournament, they went with a mind-set that they would WIN. Saw the "finish" shirts they wore in other articles. Then read about this 'net practice' that took place before they left. It's a wonder they didn't 'practice' receiving the trophy........or maybe the did !

North Texas head coach Johnny Jones wanted his team to have a vision of its future before leaving for the quarterfinals of Sun Belt Conference tournament last week, so he had the Mean Green finish practice the same way he wanted to end the event. UNT cut down the nets at the Super Pit. “You have to paint that picture for your team of what is out there,” Jones said. “If we do the small things, this is what is going to happen.”

There are two weaknesses I see in this team that JJ needs to address:

1) Free-throws. Gotta hit 'em.

2) Turnovers. When we get a lead, the men tend to try flashy passing and ally-oop shots that turn comical.

Teams like Florida or Kansas or UCLA will be unforgiving of these mistakes.

Dont forget about working on getting past the full court press. I have seen us struggle with this a couple of times especially when we played W Kentucky at home.
