Remaining on the staff is running backs coach Matt Simon and defensive line coach Chris Cosh. Simon just finished his fourth year as running backs coach. To sum up what he has done over his career at UB, you just have to look in the record books. The top three single-season rushing marks in school history have come under Simon's tutelage, including Branden Oliver's record-breaking 1,535 yards in 2013 and Anthone Taylor's 1,403 rushing yards in 2014.

Cosh just concluded his first season at UB. He has 30 years of coaching experience, including serving as defensive coordinator at Illinois, Michigan State, South Carolina, Maryland and South Florida.

"I'm very excited to have retained Coach Simon and Coach Cosh," Leipold said. "They are both outstanding men, coaches, leaders and recruiters and I'm looking forward to working with them."

Leipold will round out his coaching staff in the coming days. The staff members coming from Whitewater will report to Buffalo once their season concludes.
