  4. Do whatever you need to do tonight to see what games you want to go and then give me a call, PM me email me, snail mail, pigeon message me, smoke signals, anything you need to get a hold of me for your single game needs. Mini Packs are also on sale tomorrow and include the SMU, Nichols State game and a game of your choice. 45 (Wing), 85 (Reserved). As always if you are coming out to all the games a season ticket is by fair cheaper than buying them game by game and they are still on sale as well. 5. My personal favorite scene of him on BTG was after he finished talking to his players on D and walked passed the offense banging on lockers saying "LET'S GO O!". Basically, illustrated exactly what you just said. He was calm, cool and collected while teaching his guys on the mistakes they made on how to correct them, and then fired up with an insane amount of energy to rally the troops. We are very fortunate to have the coaches that we currently have.

  6. With Harry's blessing, I'm making this thing its own thread. We've been talking for quite some time over on the "No more heckling" thread about ways to put loud fans in the section that Conference USA has deemed can no longer be allocated as student seating. We've set up a campaign to raise at minimum, $10,000, maxing out at $24,000 because that would be the entire section. I set the minimum at $10,000 because honestly, for fewer than 100 seats, this isn't going to have the desired effect. So if the campaign doesn't meet the minimum goal, nobody's card gets charged, we all take our balls and go home, no harm, no foul. If the campaign reaches $10,000, I will collect the money via crowdtilt and purchase the tickets through the recent alumni program via Eddie Delgado. I will assume no responsibility for ticket distribution. Christopher Walker has (by nomination) volunteered to be master distributor of tickets. I figure, he's young, he's got the connections, he lives in Denton, and his beard is glorious. What could possibly go wrong there? The campaign is set to end mid-day on July 27th. We've got 29 days, ladies and gentlemen. Lets fill apogee and keep our little home field advantage alive and well! Contribute! Contribute now! <--------that right there's the link to contribute. So go contribute! This post has been promoted to an article

  7. The wife and I are officially season ticket holders with parking pass. Shout out to Eddie in the ticket office for helping me out. Picked Section 106. The season can't start soon enough. GMG.

  8. I started to call that one. When UNT and others of our level go up against a Louisiana school, odds are that the Louisiana school will win the recruiting battle. SE Texas, Beaumont, Port Arthur, Orange, has a rich cajun heritage, thus, many of those recruits will migrate over the border where they feel more comfortable.

  9. I'm extremely disappointed. I think we all agree on that. However, I think you take their scholarship away and give them a second chance. At the end of the day, these are young kids and they need direction and tough love. Richard Abbe is a great example of this.

  11. So this is kind of how we handled last offseason. Mac must be superstitious. Over $50 changes things a bit. Not good.

  15. If you didn't see this, we picked up sisters from Albany TX, one transferring from Missouri (SEC frosh of the week in Mar), the other from Illinois (was all defensive team in Big Ten as a freshman...sat out what I believe would have been her junior year with an injury last year). I think this picture is great: http://instagram.com/p/py39NrzJoY/ Hat tip to @UNTSportsNewz for sending the lead. GMG

  17. Charlotte and ODU represent significantly larger TV markets than Lafayette (#24 and #43 respectively, vs #123). Which may not matter as much for Big State U (which generally already benefit from significant interest in multiple surrounding larger markets), but it is a consideration for lesser-known/followed programs (like us). College football has gone ape-sh!t for TV money, so the moves make sense even with ECU's defection. But I'm with everyone else: If it was just about the quality of program, the support of the fanbase, and the game-day atmosphere -- I'm taking ULL over every new addition to C-USA that isn't us.

  18. Skladany will NOT get whacky. He wants his guys to understand simple assignments and play as fast as possible. That is how you take lesser athletes and equalize the talent disparity. Take thinking out and let them react and play. I would rather get torched because their athletes are just better, than have some crazy jacked up scheme not even our guys understand (see how well that worked for the Dallas Cowboys) and watch guys not get lined up right and get toasted time and time again. I am young but love old school line up and get after it football.

  19. This guy should have played for Miami in the late 80's. Fit right in. Those players were ready to fight anyone at any time.

  20. Lafayette, what I've heard, is an incredible gameday atmosphere too. I just don't understand why people think they'd be a lousy addition. IMO, they make much more sense than the F?Us.

  21. The campaign won't tilt until 10,000, and I'm not going to reneg on the terms I set forth. That would be a gross breach of fiduciary responsibility on my part. If it doesn't tilt, and you want to go through this thread after the end date and contact people via pm, that's your business, but I'm not going to just flip the switch and charge a bunch of credit cards when the contingencies weren't met.

  22. "No game is a clear-cut loss; yes, that even includes Texas, which will still be in the grind of a learning curve under Charlie Strong and the Longhorns' first-year staff. That's still a likely loss, obviously"

  23. Having to play us a couple times a season... its no suprise they're looking to beef that schedule up.

  24. You know, I hate to sound negative, but other than having the good sense to hire Coach Mac, what is so praise worthy of our program. Yes, a new stadium was built, thanks to the student vote (and UNTFLYER). But Apogee is starting it's fourth season and we've yet to have a sell out. There needs to be many non-coaching staff working for the University that is just as pumped as Mac and just as capable of grabbing the mic at a moments notice and extoling the virtues of the "Mean Green" and getting people excited. As a program, we all stand back and let Mac do it. And I'm telling everyone for the umpteenth time IT'S NOT HIS JOB AND HE CAN'T DO IT ALL!

  25. This is why we don't need an indoor practice facility but rather a baseball and other team sports instead. At least at this time in our history.

  30. With less than 2 months until kickoff, I wanted to share a Mean Green summer recipe. Simply grill a steak, any cut you prefer, any marinade you prefer, but be sure to place a slice of orange on the grill to garnish the steak...and voila, you have yourself a delicious burnt orange steak to feast on. 35. They make far more sense than compared to ODU & Charlotte. I understand wanting the CUSA brand in Fl, but ODU n Char make no sense considering A State and ULL is left to dry in the belt.
    -1 points
  36. Yeah, all of that sounds reasonable. But the conference had to have at least an idea that ECU and Tulane were crossings T's & dotting I's in preparation to depart. I also don't understand why a conference would try to please one particular team. It just seems like the conference dropped the ball. Adding A-State & ULL and never adding ODU & Char would have made the conference far more competitive and the perception wouldn't have had such a significant drop in perception. It is what it is and nothing to do about it now, but CUSA administrators really messed up.

  39. Sed posted a tweet saying "Made this bed time to lay in it" with the emoticon that looks like doesn't give a crap. What an embarrassment. Both of these guys should be sent packing and we move forward without them, this kind of stuff will become a cancer Mac can't control.

  41. wtfever. I am classy enough not to walk out of wal-mart wielding TV's without paying for them. TV's!!! That's a major character issue. Rid them both. My mistakes go as far as saying inappropriate things throughout my life, not walking out of wal-mart like TV's their 4 inch candy bars. This goes without saying, but I'll say it anyways, I've never stole a single thing in my entire life. That classy enough for you?
