  1. Today
  2. I was 3rd team honorable mention JV All-State my senior year!
  3. I really look forward to the DATCU NT University playing in the American Airlines Conference. Maybe they can sell naming rights for each and every yard line too, to be referenced only by the sponsor, not numerically. “It’s second down from the Dr. Pepper Snapple line; they have to get to Toyota.” The field will look like a Monopoly board. Maybe they can sell all the downs too; I think some places already do it for third downs.
  4. I love this tournament and had so much fun watching it last year!
  5. I'll raise you one soccer van. Bring it.
  6. And again, the SMU board isn’t interesting enough to keep SMU fans off this one.
  7. Weber grill? Station wagon? Pleated khaki shorts with black socks?
  8. Yesterday
  9. First, when the NIL comes in house players will become employees. Second , we can afford to pay all players in specific sports , just not at the same salary. You know, like the real world. UNT will have a certain amount of money available for NIL payment, which we can call a salary cap, and allocate those funds for specific sports, such as football and men's basketball. There will be a pecking order established as to who get how much based upon how many beans are in the pot, if you are a starter,at what position etc. Out biggest problem is getting donors to financially support projects such as expansion of athletic department facilities , donate to Mean Green Club, and also donate to NIL. I doubt you will get students to agree upon increasing fees to financially support athletics when they don't attend athletic events. Basically UNT is between a rock and a hard place financially . Just a thought. If the Big 12 can sell conference naming rights, such as "General Motors Football Conference ", then individual universities , perhaps needing conference approval, should be able to do the same. How does the H.E.B./U.N.T. football team sound? Go Grocers!
  10. In this pendulum of collegiate athletics several teams masquerading as big time programs swing closer to us than UT, bama, FSU, UF, LSU, etc. What is there to do with them. The Kansas State's of the world?
  11. It already is 4x that amount in some cases. Getting 1.5+ has been common place for 5+ years. I've seen as high as 2M. It should be 5M, and that would require collective partnering with all G5 conference to set that parameter. It is doable and should certainly happen.
  12. Glad to see Kai Huntsberry and Tyree Eady participating this year.
  13. They are not NOW employees. If they want to be employed, then they would all have to be paid, and all have to fall under employment contracts and rules, which will not happen because we can't afford to pay ALL players. That would include walk-ons, injured non-players, grey shirts, etc. And drop their free education too since employees don't get free education.
  14. I like that Dr Phil has supported North Texas for decades and has continued to do so. I also admire that he advocates for what is best for our country even though it's not popular with the overwhelming amount of deranged people in the entertainment industry and their "sick ideology",
  15. So in the past UNT would play Texas and receive something like )500k…shouldn’t it now follow that those games should pay the team with less budget much more to play, like 4x that much, based on the revenue these athletic departments garner ? Or why play them?
  16. My mug begs to differ. So... where do we fight and what's the weapon of choice? Also happy father's day y'all!
  17. so he stays here, transfers to a D3 school or doesn't play at all?
  18. Check that: Grad transfers can enter anytime during the academic year, but no later than the last day that the spring window is open.
  19. Bleed Green Merch! @flyonthewall, do sales help with the team's budget, or does that strictly benefit the tournament only? Maybe a balance between both?
