The Mavs are stacked

Recommended Posts

The Mavs send LaFrentz, Welsh, and Mills for Walker and Delk.

Mavs new probable lineup:

PG: Nash - Best - Delk

SG: Finley - Delk - Howard

SF: Jamison - Howard - Wahad

PF: Walker - Najera - Fortson

C: Nowitzki - Fortson - Bradley

That starting five is just killer. I can't wait for the season now. And the reserves are solid as well. Look for Howard to contribute a lot this rookie season, maybe not in scoring, but in rebounds and defense. The good thing about the starting five is not just TONS of offense, but also very good rebounders in Dirk, Jamison, and Walker...Finley isn't bad for his position either.

Who is going to stop Duncan?

Who is going to stop Shaq?

Who is going to stop Yao Ming?

Who is going to stop Divac?

The Mavs are the third best team in the MidWest nad the fifth best team in the Western Conference.

Third best in the Midwest?

Fifth best in the West?

Seriously, do you wanna put money that they will finish better than that? We can shake on it at the next home game. Name the price.

You can say "Who is going to stop....." all you want, and those players may have big games. But who on the Lakers is going to stop what the Mavs have? The Spurs? The Rockets? We are talking five all-stars that can score 40 points at any time, and Delk who is a reserve, has had FIFTY before.

Top to bottom, this is the best offensive team in the league, and here is the bottom line: This team won 60 games and went to the West Finals last season. They are significantly better now.

Offense puts asses in the seat,

DEFENSE wins Championships.

Who among the Mavs starting five plays defense. Exactly NO ONE.

The Mavs will win no more than 50 games and be the fourth or fifth seed in the West. They will be eliminated by the Minnesota Timber Wolves in the first round of the playoffs. Mark it down.

You think the Rockets are better than the Mavs? That is a joke.

Divac is a good paser for a big man but that's about it.

Please stop smoking the crack. It's not good for your judgement.

Looks like Nelson is going to move Jamison into a Van Exel-like 6th man role. I think that is fine, and Jamison says he doesn't mind. I look for Walker to play some small forward, and Fortson to play some center. This trade might not have made us a TON better right now, but Raef and his contract are gone. We now have enough offensive weapons to offer a serious trade for a big man down the line. I like the move.
