Scholarships

can someone please explain the scholarship situation to me again? i know there is a 25 signing class limit but by my count we should still have 2 spots left (one of those being Xavier's if he wants it). i count 5 guys already on campus that count towards this class (Buyers, Kirby, Macek, Wallace, Fortenberry). so that would give us 20 scholarships to work with. now Greer, Means, and Smith are on campus now and we have 15 verbals ( McClain, Montgomery, Miles, Adams, Garner, Ivery, Goree, Rutherford, Jackson, Graham, Johnson, Tauaalo, Jones, Davis, and Chumley) this reaches a grand total of 23. if X commits, we should, by my count, still have one more scholarship to give in this class.

hopefully i am not missing anything, but if i am let me know, cause it sure would be nice to get another DT or DB.

No, you've got it down. You're missing kicker Trevor Moore, so we actually have 16 high school commits not currently enrolled. That's 24 which means we should have 1 left. Unless there is something I'm missing. This is what I've been saying for a few weeks which is why I don't know what the hold up was with Chumley's commitment or why Vito was saying we might only have 2 more spots before Tillman Johnson and Chumley committed. Just a few days to go, then we'll have a better understanding of everything

i always for get the kicker... thanks for clearing that up! so we really need to get X!!! i honestly think that we should look to grey-shirt one of the local guys who is more than likely to get a red shirt next season anyway. i was thinking Johnavon Graham since he is coming off a broken leg and will need time to get back to normal before he really starts improving. that way we may be able to swing one more kid into this class if someone we cant pass up comes calling!

Keep in mind of those kids already on campus can be placed on scholarships from this past season, if any were not used or if a player left the team.
