The USA Rugby College 7s National Championship is being played this weekend in Greensboro, NC and our very own North Texas Rugby team qualified. In the most recent rankings, UNT’s 7s team is ranked 22nd in the nation and is the only school in Texas in the top 25.They will be going toe to toe with several "big name" universities such as Florida, Oklahoma, Texas, Auburn, Arizona State as well as some lesser known Rugby powerhouses Life, Air Force, Navy, Davenport and Lindenwood. They will play 3 games tomorrow to determine seeding in the finals on Sunday. Tomorrow they play Arkansas St (#1 ranked team in the country) at 9:20, Oregon State (16) at 1:20, and Florida (25) at 4:00pm.

They even got some love from the NT Daily http://ntdaily.com/unt-rugby-team-competes-for-national-championship/

Just thought since it is a form of Football and a National Championship Tourney that they should get some kudos.

These guys are a solid team coached by a very committed and exceptional man(Art) along with assistance from former top players and the coach of the premier rugby team in Dallas(Michael Engelbrecht). These kids are road tripping out there to represent UNT and keep an eye on them, because anything can happen in the crazy rugby world. Especially 7s. GMG!
