Closed practices, scrimmages, and oaths of secrecy?

I can kind of understand the practices being closed, as there might be something opposing teams could find out, but how can there be such a lack of information about anything UNT football related at this point? So, I think we should endeavor to list what we know; I mean, at least maybe what we know we didn't know, or still don't know, such as:

We know that we didn't know that there was a competition for the QB position until last weekend.

We know that today we don't know why Derek Thompson is now leading in the QB competition.

We know that we didn't know until today that a new running back, Erick Evans has joined the team.

We know that most of us don't know how that Adman knows that Evans scored 2 rushing touchdowns.

We know that we don't know if there were any other offensive scores in today's scrimmage.
