So 1954 was not their first time there. It was their second. It was their second consecutive visit to the finals, and it was equally improbable as the first in 1953.

Either pure random picking luck, or he must have a VCU connection. I don't see how anyone could have projected VCU. Maybe Butler because of last year, but VCU? Pretty amazing.
