A Nice Story About A Big Lottery Winner

Recommended Posts

Maybe it is a requirement that I don't know about when claiming your winnings, but why on earth do these people agree to a press conference to tell the world their suddenly rich?

Rick

I wonder if this is written on the back of your ticket as a requirement. Do you remember anyone who claimed a big prize that didn't have a press conference? I can't. Also, saw the other day that a 5 million ticket that was sold in Burleson has still not been cliamed some 40 days after the drawing. If your a Burlesonite, check your tickets!!

Something in the back of my head tells me that I read that once. By playing the lottery and claiming a prize, you agree to have your image used for marketing purposes or something like that. I think that's the reason some people wait up to a year to claim their prize. They want to get their accountants, lawyers and whatnot all lined up before they go public and start getting harassed by long lost family members and business "opportunity" solicitors.
