UNT Development Idea

I have seen the old Maple apartments, and the apartments on NT Blvd @ Prairie have been torn down. What are they planning to put there?

Here is something that I think would be good.

Austin has 6th street, New Orleans has Burbon Street, what do we have? Please don't even let the words Fry street come out of your mouth. Honestly, besides a few good restraunts and a couple of good bars, Fry has NOTHING.

NOOOTTTHHHHIIIIINNNGGGGG!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Why not take down more of those apartments on Prairie down, and put a bunch of college hangouts there. Some more college eateries, a few more bars, and some clubs would be cool. It would compliment Fry. They are withing walking distance of each other, so students could walk back and forth.

We always talk about the students not hanging around on the weekends, or being "apathetic", I think a little strip like this could help unite the student body, the alumni, and the faculty. Instead of having to drive to Dallas, they have something right here in Denton. Good food, dancing, and games.

Another big plus side to this would be that its right behind the stadium!!!! It would be a great place for tailgating and getting together before the game, and likewise after the game. Just Imagine something similar to 6th in our own backyard, litteraly! Our visiting fans from the opposing schools could walk to the strip from the Raddisson, or get a quick bus ride from one of the other hotels on I-35. I know it would take alot of development, but it would be awesome to have that here.
