I think your decision is spot on, for real. If I caught the covid and had antibodies, it would give me pause too. I THINK I would ultimately get the vaccine ... and definitely when the requirements kicked it, I would. But, it would definitely give you space to make the decision in a more laid back situation. That's great. I hope the UNTLifer and the other non-vaxxers do this study. The more information the better.

Thanks, I really appreciate that. It means a great deal coming from you because we don’t always see eye to eye.

Just adding my unique perspective on this: I had some mild symptoms, tested positive for COVID and did the quarantine, then tested negative on the follow-up antibody test.  I am now fully vax'd

For those of you that have antibodies via previously recovering from an infection, I would keep an eye on the studies that come out around how long those natural antibodies last before waning (if they even do).   I still get tetanus boosters every 10 years because those antibodies don’t last.  It looks like that might be what that Texascares project that CR1028 posted is about…  I need to check that out!

It may still benefit you to take a vaccine later.   Or, maybe antibodies you come by naturally are better than those your body produces just by being introduced to the virus’ mRNA, and you’re protected longer.  They’re already recommending boosters for those of us who’ve taken the vaccine.  I would imagine a ‘booster’ might help those who have had it before too like the link from Kentucky that SWB posted.

Great conversation happening here!
