CBS give Mean Green a chance

Sun Belt -- March 6-9/Bowling Green, Ky.

Favorite

Western Kentucky. The red towels will be out in force as the Hilltoppers host this tourney, and there probably is no bigger homecourt advantage in the league. A potential semifinal battle with top seed UL-Lafayette would be a war.

Dark horse

North Texas. Seeded sixth, the Eagles are dangerous because they have an assortment of weapons and play pretty much everyone on their roster. If they play consistent basketball, they could emerge at the opposite end of the bracket.

At stake

No one is getting an automatic bid this year, and only the Ragin' Cajuns have had a season strong enough to merit an NIT bid.

Player to watch

WKU center Nigel Dixon averaged a double-double this season and at over 300 pounds, is quite the handful. If he stays out of foul trouble, the Hilltoppers have the go-to guy necessary to win three games in three nights.

No automatic bids! ?

Since when?

I'm not the huge bball fan, but I was under the assumption that all conference champs go to the Tourney.

What that means is no one get an automatic bid to the NCAA tournament with thier regular season performance. Though in his opinion ULL played well enough to maybe get an NIT bid.

300 Pounds??? What the heck? This guys is to big to even play ball. That has to be some typo or something.
