  1. I will agree with you there though. He does have a tighter spiral. Ok, there is one happy Tune we an sing, more of a jig really, but still.
  2. The only Tune the Mean Green will be singing this weekend is the Imperial Death March. After that interception last week I'm not a huge Tune fan. I know it likely wouldn't be a win anyway, but this will just make things worse.
  3. I remember that game very well! I was on the field photographing it. It sucked!!
  4. I don't know how Ohio can be favored over NT given those stats Should be an interesting weekend, my sister's BF went to Ohio and is rooting for them. Funny thing is, he is also on staff at UNT.
  5. Man, you know those poor souls in row 14 are really in row 13.
  6. The Albino Squirrel Preservation Society replaces each dead squirrel with a live one. No lie! I would not be surprised if the first one was planted.
  7. I hope they are not planning on destroying the current fountain. That would be a big downer if they did.
  8. They are indeed open until May. I'm working with the Save Fry St. group, Ski told one of our members the other day. The developer is playing games. He realized what he did with Chi was a mistake and actually developed a conscience and didn't do the same thing to Ski, thought he almost did.
  9. Wow, everybody seems to be easily pleased. I think they look great too, but this is only once concept. I would like to see many more if I was the one making the decesion on the helmet design. Well, I actually shouldn't say the Mean Green Nation is so easily pleased, we all screamed bloody hell when the presented the new word marks. I think something better could possibly be done though.
  10. What was the purpose of the black jerseys? Did the Athletic Department have any official announcement on this? My only guess is a reference to a funeral, either our program is now dead or the players are mourning the loss of Dickey. The former seems to be very accurate at this point. I was not there and had to do a double and triple take when I saw the image on the front page. At first I thought, “did it rain, is his jersey just wet?” Then I noticed the Mean Green lettering was not present. I definitely don’t like what they did.
  11. Agreed!!! Losing this game though would be devastating. So this game is pretty much a must win. I would also say a must win by a good margin. But then again, a win is a win right
  12. One more then it's back to work Marcus Patterson - WR
  13. Elliott Bates, Offensive Line Laurence Fishurne
  14. He is just trying to piss of the fans. Not that the fans should influence his decesion, but man sometimes I can't help but wonder if he was just sitting there saying, well I know I should start Woody, but at hate the Mean Green Nation, they don't respect me, I will show them. Phillips will start. If DD wants the respect of the fans he needs to start coaching better.
  15. Mean, I have been gone to long, when did the MGR go podcast?
  16. This has made my day!! Here is my contribution. Dr. Phil
  17. When I was a student I apparently got a ticket in front of the Student Union one night. I never saw the ticket on my window. I did not know until a year later when registering for classes and had blocks. I had to pay the ticket along with a late fee and an additional late fee from the tuition office since it had rolled over there for the blocks. I tried to refute it, but they did not buy my story. I just wish I had shown up on the hearing date rather than relying on my story on the piece of paper. Oh well, the whole system was jacked then and is still messed up.
  18. Rick are you being sarcastic or do you recognize the house?
  19. Hell freezes over in the winter every year! IN Hell, Michigan that is! I saw on CNN they are selling novelty mugs and official "I survived a day in Hell" certificates. They even have an Atheist group coming out for the fun. CNN also mentioned women having labor induced early or C-Sections to avoid having a child on the day.
  20. You may have also noticed Gene at Campus Barber has not yet sold, the owner of Rip Rocks and Lou's was also offered money for those properties and they turned it down. That was actually new news. There had been no previous mention of United Equities being interested in those properties. I have to wonder if that information is substantiated or not though. The DRC did misquote Buster Freedman as saying he wanted to bring in CVS and Starbucks. He never said such thing. I don't think Buster is the monster some people are making him out to be. He seems willing to listen to the Save Fry St. group and some compromise may be reached.
  21. You may me surprised at some of the things that happened.... - Norah Jones used to play shows back when Baghari's was Jims Diner - Charles "Tex" Watson of the Manson family used to live in the Fry. St. Apartments - Fry. St was actually named after a Sheriff William S. Fry who was respected for cleaning up crime in Denton. - The Argo is the main reason places like Hailey's and Rubber Gloves exist, they where one of the first places to bring in national acts, I'm not sure but Rick's may have been a first. - In that parking lot behind all the buildings there used to be bungalow style housing that students would hide out in to avoid the draft. We are finding out more and more about this area the more research we are doing. You do have a point about the way the buildings look. Many of the tenants have not kept the buildings up as they should have. Notice the side of the tomato graphite is covered up with white paint rather than the same color used on the wall. We are trying to change things like this as well. Our goal is to at least save that "L" of buildings along Hickory and Fry. The insides may end up being gutted, but the outer structure would still stand. Granted we lose local businesses but we feel national chains won't survive there and local flavor will eventually return. Look at the Gap in Austin on Guadalupe (spelling?) that store did not survive. If we are able to save the existing structure you will at least have a cultural and historic icon still remaining. Face it Fry St. makes Denton what it is, or at least part of it and I feel that is a fairly large part of it. Let all these developers put up their stores on the Loop and I-35, take down that damn Desert Sands motel and build something there, but keep out of historic districts. If this keeps going on there will be no flavor left in Denton and we will be another cookie cutter town like Frisco or Flower Mound.
  22. I posted this in the other Fry St. thread, but just in case people have started to ignore it. There will be a public meeting at Dan's Silver Leaf on Industrial St. tonight to update the public of what is going on and how they can help. It will be an open forum as well so you can speak your mind for it or even against it. But if you do be civil about it. More information can be found at http://www.savefrystreet.com
