What would you do?

If you were put in charge of this team tonight what would you do to make a positive impact? If I was making the call I would envoke the KISS rule. Keep It Simple Stupid!

1. Let it be known that you have your scape goat. His head has rolled. Blame the past on him he is dead to us anyway.  The future is in your hands.

2. Just because you were a starter does not mean you are a starter! All positions are up for compition.

3. Announce that D1 scholarships are for D1 players only. No one gets a free ride. Everyone is up for review.

4. Chop the play book to a bare minimum. Football is about execution. Run the plays you have correctly. No sense in running variations of more than 10 plays horribly.

5. The linemen have to step up but a QB has to be able to move around, extend plays AND throw the ball downfield more than 10 yards. With zero threat of the QB running it's too easy to shut UNT down. Portlands QB was no beast but he sure knew when to tuck it and run!

6. Take joy in the small victories! Every score, every forced punt, every tackle for a loss, every mean green first down. As long as they're fighting for it cheer like it's a bowl game win!

Excellent post !  This will be hard to fully implement until after Thursday, but then there is time to make real progress with this approach IMO.
